Ans: A guy in a pic….
Trivial, I know, and not too original either, since I got it from LiveJournal, but I couldn’t resist posting this ![]()
Not quite everything about Ubuntu, but close.

Woah… that’s weird… Probly a public domain image or something…
Or maybe they’re twins separated at birth with similar tastes in shirts, colors and hair styles.
lol
Or that photo is bought form the same stock-photo provider.
Maybe he is a support tech for both? Maybe Firedog does Ubuntu support!
Mmm, delicious corporate stock photography. You must eat it.
Ubuntu should probably have some sort of policy against corporate stock photography—the only people who enjoy it are people who use buzzwords, and The Man.
Can we not have a real photo of a real Ubuntu support technician really doing their job? Yeah, it mightn’t be as glossy, but at least it wouldn’t be disingenuous. And that openness and lack of corporate sheen is one of the things that attracts people to Ubuntu.
rofl stock image.. love it.
Had similar experience to this some time ago. A image of a person showed up else where and we thought that it looked like something we knew. Sure enough the person in the image was the same person used in a corporate product we support for our employer
Woh! The same guys works for both Canonical and Circuit City?! And he looks so similar in both pictures! What are the odds!
So who was first?
The colors (look at his face) are different on the pictures. Either one was created using an application that does not handle colors pretty well.
In any case, it is a good picture. Professional, assuring. Good colors.
My guess is that he is a Firedog guy. Look a the color of his shirt. Its firedog color.
Maybe he’s an open source person. Anybody can use him.
Just thought you should know that this same picture is used for the support page on VMware.com
Ross, I can’t seem to find him on any of VMWare’s pages.
That’s funny.
I like how the Circuit City page designer got overwhelmed by the guy’s green shirt and suddenly modeled the whole palette of that pane after him. Talk about being easily swayed…
This guy (guy in te pic) needs to be hooked up with the Everywhere girl(google it)!! They were meant to be together!
Open Source Person? ha ha.. Good one.. Well I have seen that same guy in different ads wearing different colored shirts.. He gets around!
Gentoo homepage uses copyrighed penguin image from old QuickTime as authentic open source image:

Hey! He must the The Everywhere Girl’s brother!
^_^ Has anyone told L’Inq?
I’ve seen dell use the same photos as competitors. In fact, Gateway and Samsung. Check here for more info:
