Trivial, I know, and not too original either, since I got it from LiveJournal, but I couldn’t resist posting this :)

Woah… that’s weird… Probly a public domain image or something…

2. uwc - September 9, 2007

Or maybe they’re twins separated at birth with similar tastes in shirts, colors and hair styles.

3. Andrew - September 9, 2007

lol

4. MacSlow - September 9, 2007

Or that photo is bought form the same stock-photo provider.

5. Kevin Mark - September 9, 2007

Maybe he is a support tech for both? Maybe Firedog does Ubuntu support!

6. Kadath - September 9, 2007

Mmm, delicious corporate stock photography. You must eat it.

7. Greg K Nicholson - September 9, 2007

Ubuntu should probably have some sort of policy against corporate stock photography—the only people who enjoy it are people who use buzzwords, and The Man.

Can we not have a real photo of a real Ubuntu support technician really doing their job? Yeah, it mightn’t be as glossy, but at least it wouldn’t be disingenuous. And that openness and lack of corporate sheen is one of the things that attracts people to Ubuntu.

rofl stock image.. love it.

Had similar experience to this some time ago. A image of a person showed up else where and we thought that it looked like something we knew. Sure enough the person in the image was the same person used in a corporate product we support for our employer :)

Woh! The same guys works for both Canonical and Circuit City?! And he looks so similar in both pictures! What are the odds!

10. Vincent - September 9, 2007

So who was first?

11. mrtroll - September 9, 2007

The colors (look at his face) are different on the pictures. Either one was created using an application that does not handle colors pretty well.

In any case, it is a good picture. Professional, assuring. Good colors.

12. Manohar - September 9, 2007

My guess is that he is a Firedog guy. Look a the color of his shirt. Its firedog color.

13. firedancer - September 9, 2007

Maybe he’s an open source person. Anybody can use him.

14. Ross Peoples - September 9, 2007

Just thought you should know that this same picture is used for the support page on VMware.com

15. uwc - September 9, 2007

Ross, I can’t seem to find him on any of VMWare’s pages.

16. Karl Roos - September 9, 2007

That’s funny.

17. Conor - September 9, 2007

I like how the Circuit City page designer got overwhelmed by the guy’s green shirt and suddenly modeled the whole palette of that pane after him. Talk about being easily swayed…
